Peace project Europe –

a perspective for the future

Our new upcoming project

“Dialogue, understanding and trust are the foundation for countering the instrumentalization of religions in order to justify violence. We promote and support the peaceful coexistence between humans and nature – for our common future” (Religions for Peace10th World Assembly, Lindau 2019).

Our new project is focussed on a common learning process of groups and initiatives in Europe struggling for peace and justice. We are looking for partners with different cultural, national and religious backgrounds. The project itself can be realized in several sequences within regional, national and international contexts.

Europe remains the world’s most peaceful region, despite recording a very slight deterioration in peacefulness on the 2020 GPI. Sixteen countries recorded improvements in peacefulness, with 19 having deteriorations. European countries account for 17 of the top 25 countries in the 2020 GPI, with Iceland being the highest ranking country in the region and also globally. Turkey is the only European country to be ranked in the bottom 25 least peaceful countries. (…)
