Religious Diversity in the alpine Rhine Valley
Regional Research Project (2009-2011)
As part of the transnational project “Neue Herausforderungen für das Zusammenleben in einem kulturell und religiös pluralistischen Europa” (New Challenges for Living Together in a Culturally and Religiously Pluralistic Europe), our institute investigated cultural and religious diversity across borders in the Alpine Rhine Valley region.
After initial preparatory work and related events, an empirical study was conducted since 2009 together with local and regional cooperation partners in Liechtenstein, in Vorarlberg and in Eastern Switzerland.
Thanks to the generous financial support of the Princely Government, we were able to complete the research project on schedule in 2011 within the framework of a three-year grant. In cooperation with the Liechtenstein Institute, we then published our comprehensive research report in 2012.
